Project Building Surveying
Summers-Inman Building Surveyors work with clients to formulate project briefs and financial budgets and manage the design and construction project from beginning to end.
Services include:
Party Wall Advice, Rights of Light
Summers-Inman’s expert advice can ensure clients comply with the provisions of the Party Wall etc Act 1996. Failure to adhere to the requirements of this Act during the early stages of a project may lead to expensive delays.
Early advice can also be provided on rights of light issues and the procedures necessary to ensure that a planned building scheme can proceed.
Disaster Management
Summers–Inman offers clients a rapid response to property disasters such as fires, floods or natural failures, providing professional advice on dealing with insurers and loss adjusters and managing the damage reinstatement works necessary. Works have included the remediation of several thousand flooded homes in the north east, Yorkshire and Cumbria, reinstatement of fire damaged property and the rebuilding of a collapsed multi storey car park whilst under construction
Access Audits
Summers-Inman can provide professional property audits to ensure buildings comply with the Disability Discrimination Act 1995. The Act imposed obligations - which came into effect in 2004 - to remove physical obstructions that discriminate against disabled people in accessing services.
Expert Witness
Summers-Inman’s experience in presenting evidence in report and witness form can provide added weight to a case. Indeed, the high quality of the properly researched written evidence produced is often sufficient to assist in the resolution of property and construction disputes without the need for expensive and time consuming litigation.
Asbestos Surveys
Summers-Inman’s building surveyors are British Institute of Occupational Hygienists Proficiency Certificate P402 accredited. This enables us to offer specialist survey and consultancy services to ensure clients comply with the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations 2002.
Contracts to remove or safe-manage hazardous asbestos-bearing materials can also be managed.
