This sector includes our work with Water and Electricity companies where we provide advice on an estate wide basis on very many, often isolated, sites. It also includes regeneration, remediation and decontamination contracts, highways and utilities services and large public realm works. We have been involved in many remediation schemes where large "dirty" former industrial sites have been brought back in to use by Government Agencies and offered to the private sector as sites for housing, business parks and retail outlets. The work involved has included removal of contaminates, ground stabilisation, extensive remodelling of contours, and river edge treatment before roads, sewers and utilities can be provided. Examples include the decommissioning and demolition of a former microchip manufacturing plant to provide a Business Park in North Tyneside; Newburn Riverside a 92 hectare site on the banks of the River Tyne that has undergone a £46 million major reclamation programme to provide 180,000 sq m of commercial and industrial floor space and Smiths Dock at North Shields, the clearance and remediation of a former dry docks to provide a major residential site
