He joined Summers-Inman in 1994 to develop Project Management, Building Surveying and Health & Safety Services within Scotland. Prior to joining Summers Inman he Project Managed £70m (circa 1990's) of mixed-use facilities for MOD Defence while working with the Property Services Agency.

Since joining Summers Inman, Ross has developed a diverse client base covering most sectors of the Construction Industry with a project range varying from small condition surveys to large commercial projects such as his current involvement in a hotel/office development in Aberdeen with a total value of £60m. He also heads Framework Agreements with Clients including Queen Margaret University, NHS Fife, the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh and other Education clients.

Past sporting interests have included running and coaching rugby but he now leads a more leisurely life playing golf, skiing and following Boroughmuir Rugby Club.
