Associate Director, based in Newcastle
Michael Henning, MRICS is an Associate Director in our Newcastle office. He is a Senior Quantity Surveyor and Project Manager with an exceptional depth of experience spanning over 30 years in the construction industry, having worked in local authority, been a partner in private practice and a senior commercial manager in a development and construction company.
Michael joined Summers-Inman in 2006 and has particular expertise in financially managing and ensuring commercial viability in the delivery of low carbon and sustainable developments across all sectors.
He has also secured grant funding for several major employment generating capital projects across the north east including for the £30m Green Lane Office Village development in Spennymoor, due for completion in 2011, where he is also the Project Manager. He is the Director-in Charge of all Building Surveying commissions in the Newcastle office including the health and safety and asset surveys carried out under a Framework Agreement with Northumbrian Water.
Michael is actively involved in the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors both regionally and nationally. He is the immediate past North East Regional Chairman and is a member of RICS International Governing Council.
Away from work Michael is a season ticket holder at Newcastle United but to relax he plays guitar and attempts to keep fit by running and occasional visits to the gym.
