Project Outline: The Net Zero Industry Innovation Centre (NZIIC) is a new-build construction project located in Middlesbrough. It aims to facilitate the transition of the Tees Valley and UK’s engineering industries to more sustainable, low carbon processes and products. The facility, designed to be Net Zero Carbon and BREEAM Outstanding rated, will serve as a national hub for technological research, development, demonstration, and transfer. Its purpose is to kick-start commercial industrial decarbonization, hydrogen, and circular economy related business activities in the Tees Valley region. Additionally, it will provide dedicated space for green industrial development and offer specialized research, development, and innovation support infrastructure. The NZIIC will be situated at a specialized “Innovation Campus,” fostering collaboration and co-location of R&D activities.

Roles and Achievements:  A value management approach was adopted to achieve budget, BREEAM Outstanding rating and Net Zero accreditation.
