International Women’s Day marked annually on March 8th celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women and also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. Significant activity is witnessed worldwide as groups come together to celebrate. It is also a day when thousands of fund-raising activities for female-focused charities get underway.
The theme for International Women’s Day 2022, is to ‘Break The Bias’ . Whether deliberate or unconscious, bias makes it difficult for women to move ahead. Knowing that bias exists isn’t enough. Action is needed to level the playing field.
Whilst we acknowledge that the construction sector remains a highly male-dominated industry, we are pleased to encourage women in construction at Summers-Inman and we’re trying to reduce bias and show that there’s an equal workforce on the horizon.
