Job Summary

Due to an increasing workload, we are currently seeking an Architectural Technologist to join our Newcastle office, supporting our established architectural design team.

The key experience requirements are as follows:

  • Technical Design: preparation of detailed technical drawings, elevations, sections, and specifications using AutoCAD (must be AutoCAD proficient, with Revit proficiency desirable).
  • Project Delivery: assisting in the preparation of planning applications, building regulation submissions, and other statutory consent documentation.
  • Design Coordination: liaising with consultants, contractors, and clients to ensure project specifications and requirements are accurately implemented.
  • Building Information Modelling (BIM): assisting in the creation, coordination, and management of BIM models and data.
  • Construction Detailing: production of detailed construction drawings, schedules, and associated documentation for tender and construction phases.
  • Site Support: providing technical support during the construction stage, including site inspections and quality assurance activities.

Skills and experience required

Ideally you will have:

  • Degree in Architectural Technology (BSc or BSc Hons), CIAT accredited, or working towards professional accreditation.
  • Competency in AutoCAD is essential; knowledge of Revit and BIM software is desirable.
  • Proven experience working within architectural design teams, ideally within consultancy practices.
  • Understanding of current UK Building Regulations, Planning processes, and construction detailing.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Desire to develop professionally within a dynamic and collaborative environment.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
