Project Manager – Newcastle

Job Summary:

Project Manager responsible for managing projects, customer relationships, managing and coordinating activities within the Summers-Inman Project Management Team as appropriate.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting Directors in delivering business objectives.
  • Positively engaging with Clients and developing, growing and maintaining Client relationships.
  • Delivering high quality services and ensuring that project management deliverables meet Customers’ requirements.
  • Managing teams to deliver high quality services and deliverables in accordance with the business QMS procedures.
  • Administrating contracts.
  • Producing and presenting reports to Clients.
  • Managing service delivery for profit.
  • Advising Directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or that might arise, on projects; in particular those that might impact on Summers-Inman professional indemnity (PI) insurance.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Broad project management experience
  • Knowledge and experience of project management techniques.
  • Knowledge of the industry and construction methods and materials.
  • Knowledge of construction procurement strategies.
  • Experienced in administering construction contracts.
  • Clear understanding of legislation impacting on building contracts.
  • Ability to motivate others in promoting a collaborative working environment.
  • Clear and effective communication skills.
  • Methodical way of thinking and approach to work.
  • Ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily.
  • Excellent problem solving, negotiating, financial and numeracy skills.
  • Sound ICT skills, with a high level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and Project.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and to manage teams.

Qualifications:

  • MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors); or
  • MAPM (Member of the Association of Project Managers); or
  • MCIOB (Member of the Chartered Institute of Building)
