About the role
Due to increasing workload we are currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor in our Edinburgh office, assisting our establish cost consultancy team in a wide range of duties, including:
- Preparation of cost estimates, cost plans, tender documents, interim valuations of construction.
- Providing general support in cost management and financial reporting.
- Attending meetings to provide QS input, review project progress and present project data as appropriate.
- Working on own projects as appropriate.
- Assisting in the role of Employer’s Agent on a variety of projects with a view to taking the lead including chairing and minuting progress meetings.
This role provides a challenging and rewarding opportunity to develop within a dynamic team, supported by a medium-sized multi-professional consultancy.
About you
Ideally you will have:
- Quantity Surveying BSc or BSc (Hons) degree (accredited by RICS) or near completion of course
- A desire to work towards MRICS status
- Relevant work experience, gained either post-graduation or during placements
- Understanding of the principal standard forms of building contracts
- Familiarity with cost estimating and measurement software
- Excellent communication and report writing skills
- Desire to find a long-term opportunity and progress your career with a leading consultancy
- Full UK driving licence and use of own vehicle
