Job Title: Quantity Surveyor (Measurement)

Job Summary

Summers-Inman is one of only a few Practices in the region that offer clients and contractors bills of quantities prepared by experienced, dedicated measurement quantity surveyors. We are seeking to shape our team to meet our diverse workload and are offering the opportunity for the right person to join us in a senior measurement position.

Due to the nature of the work, the role will qualify for our hybrid working policy and the successful candidate will be able to work from both the office and home.

We cover all types of buildings from relatively small refurbishments to multi-million-pound flagship developments.

We adopt a range of standards commensurate with the purpose of the measurement – cost planning quantities, builder’s quantities, Standard Method of Measurement (SMM7) and New Rules of Measurement (NRM2).

CostX is our main measurement software package and experience of using it is preferential but not essential. It follows the same basic principles of all electronic measurement packages and training will be given if required.

The role is full-time. However, we might consider a part-time role for the right applicant.

Qualifications and Skills

Formal qualifications are not required. More important to us is a good work ethic and the experience and knowledge to maintain our current high standards of service in this field of expertise.

The successful individual will be used to working collaboratively within a team, as well as operating under their own initiative. They must have experience of measuring from a variety of levels of design detail and be able to plan and manage the measurement exercise.

Knowledge and experience of working with Building Information Models (BIM) will be preferable however not essential.
