Job Title: Quantity Surveyor (Measurement)
Job Summary: Summers-Inman is one of only a few Practices in the region that offer clients and contractors bills of quantities prepared by experienced, dedicated measurement quantity surveyors. We are seeking to shape our team to meet our diverse workload and are offering the opportunity for the right person to join us in a senior measurement position.
Notwithstanding the Covid-19 situation, the work will be predominantly office based, in our Newcastle office in Great Park. From time-to-time, there will be the need to visit sites and designers and contractors to obtain or collate information for measurement.
During Covid-19 working restriction periods, you can work from home, keeping in contact with and having the support of colleagues via phone, email and our Microsoft Teams’ Groups. Alternatively, it might be possible for us to make special arrangements for you work from the office.
We cover all types of buildings from relatively small refurbishments to multi-million-pound flagship developments.
We adopt a range of standards commensurate with the purpose of the measurement – cost planning quantities, builder’s quantities, Standard Method of Measurement and New Rules of Measurement (NRM2).
RIPAC is our main measurement software package. It follows the same basic principles of all electronic measurement packages and training will be given if required.
The role is full-time. However, we might consider a part-time role for the right applicant.
Qualifications and Skills: Formal qualifications are not required. More important to us is a good work ethic and the experience and knowledge to maintain our current high standards of service in this field of expertise.
The successful individual will be used to working collaboratively within a team, as well as operating under his or her own initiative. He or she must have experience of measuring from a variety of levels of design detail and be able to plan and manage the measurement exercise.
Renumeration: The salary package is negotiable.
